Choosing your wedding Music

Your wedding day is the biggest and most special day of your life. So make sure to pick the best music that will make your event even better. Before you pick the songs and tunes for your wedding, make a rough list of all the songs you like. Try to look for songs and tunes that work great with each other and make a rhythm. I know it is hard to choose when all you want is put all your favorite songs in one go. But you are the not the only one listening to the songs. There will be 100s of other people as well. So compile a list of songs that everyone will be delighted to hear. To make it a bit easy for you, here are some tips to help you choose the best music for your wedding.

  • Select a DJ or Band

Make sure that the person in charge of the music is an expert. In that case, a wedding DJ or a band is the best option. They know how to make the party great. So never pick a random person to control the music. Many people choose a band to play at the ceremony and then a DJ takes control of the Music during the reception. Or they do the opposite. You can choose what works best for you.

  • Gather the major songs first

You ever listened to a song and then imagined it being played while you are walking down the aisle. Some songs are so beautiful and mesmerizing that the moment you hear them, you dream of playing them at your wedding. I’m sure you already have a list of those songs. So give them the top priority and gather other major songs that will sync well with them.

  • Make a rough list

You can’t play all your favorite songs at your wedding but you can play most of them. For that you first need to make a list of all the songs. Then check them out with your theme. Some people go for a beach wedding and playing winter love songs (no matter how much you love that song) wouldn’t seem so appropriate there. So match that list with the theme and location of your wedding.

  • Play a variety of music

Music will be playing in the background throughout the entire wedding. You don’t want and neither will your guests want to listen to the same songs or music type over and over again. Different events of your wedding will require different types of music. Let us take wedding reception for instance. Here is some songs suggestion for it.

  1. Grand Entrance: Beyonce’s “Love on Top” or The Beatles’ “Twist and Shout”
  2. The First Dance: Maroon 5’s “Sugar”or Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”.
  3. Dinner: Frank Sinatra’s “The Very Thought of You” or Al Green’s “I Want to Hold Your Hand”
  4. Bouquet toss song: Dusty Springfield’s “Wishin’ and Hopin’” or Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”

And the list goes on and on. These were the top picked songs by people but you can always go with your own style and liking and make your wedding as special and unique as possible.

  • Enjoy the moment

Whatever the type of music you choose, it should be aimed at only one thing and that is celebration. Your wedding day is the day you celebrate and announce your forever bond with your partner. Your music selection should get everyone dancing. The ultimate goal is to enjoy and have a good time. That is what you will be having if you pick the right kind of music that is according to your taste and appropriate to the theme.
