Interview Session with Megan, a famous wedding photographer
Planning a wedding can be hectic work: wedding dress, bridesmaids’ dresses, venue, reception, food, music, guests’ list… And then you have to decide whether you should hire a professional wedding photographer or not. Why not use pictures taken by friends or relatives? After all, photographs may not be your top priority. The most important thing is to enjoy the day, right?
It’s okay to wonder: are wedding photographs so important? Is it worth spending money on them, when you are already paying for everything else? And if it’s worth it, can’t you opt for a cheaper alternative, like using the photos your guests take?
Hiring a professional wedding photographer, instead of assigning the task to an amateur photographer, is worth every penny you spend.
There are so many reasons why you should consider hiring a professional and we can walk you through the interview session with famous wedding photographer of the town, Megan from Something bleu.
Q&A With Megan
• What’s the best tip you have for a couple planning a wedding?
“Remember to stay present, and enjoy the day as it unfolds. You’ve spent months/years planning and now it’s time to trust the professionals you’ve hired and relax into the present moment.”
• What don’t couples know about your business that they need to know?
“We love traveling abroad for weddings and have passports in hand for destination weddings. Ask us how we do destination weddings!”
• What questions should couples be asking that they don’t know to ask?
“Ask about your photo and cinema team’s style, how would they describe their art? Does your wedding day vision align?”
• What is your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding?
“Plan a little downtime, maybe you want to drive around on that party bus and get a little weird? Or actually, enjoy cocktail hour? Or, take an ice cream break at Ted Drew’s? It’s important for you to enjoy every moment but also plan to give yourself a little time for you two. “
• What’s the most unusual wedding you’ve ever done?
“ A fusion wedding in Chicago had a large theater and multiple belly dancers, the atmosphere was fun and full of culture. “
• What was the most memorable wedding you ever worked, and why?
“One of the sweetest most memorable weddings involved the groom’s late mother’s wedding dress is made into a flower girl dress. The groom shared a dance with his niece on the dance floor – as they hugged, his mother’s dress and little girl’s arms wrapped around his neck. He was getting the dance with his mother he couldn’t have. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”
