As a caterer, we are involved in more than just the food! We often coordinate behind the scenes with the venue, wedding planners, florists, & other vendors involved in the event. Being a caterer, we are thinking about everything from a logistical perspective. Is there enough floor space for the requested food serving style? How long can the food stay hot from the kitchen to the table? Is a room flip a possibility?

4. What questions should couples be asking that they don’t know to ask?

Advice! Ask your vendors – caterer, venue, photographer, what they have done in the past that worked really well or didn’t work well. Run your ideas past them to see if they are workable.

5. What is your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding?

Our best piece of advice is to be present during the planning. Set aside time to soak in the entire process with one another. Listen to what is important to your partner and make decisions together!

Don’t forget to include the bride and groom when giving your final guarantee to the caterer. It happens a lot!!

6. What is the most unusual wedding you ever did?

We had a Harry Potter/Starwars themed wedding at the Stone House of St. Charles. It was a perfect setting and the room was decorated with hanging floating candles and the flags of the houses from Harry Potter. The wedding cake encompassed both themes. A real highlight was the live owl that carried the wedding rings down to the officiant.

7. What is the most memorable wedding you ever worked and why?

We catered a really fun wedding at The Venue at Maison du Lac carnival theme. We had a served in clown makeup passing hors d’oeuvres. There was a cotton candy machine. Carousel horses were part of the decor. The centerpieces on the tables were jars of various candies. The place cards were circus tickets. Dessert was at a cute pie station. The food stations were tied to carnival food. Every detail was unique.
