Vendor Highlight – Wedding Videographer Lance Begnaud
While your wedding day is without a doubt one of the biggest and happiest days of your life, it’s also one of the busiest days of your life! Food is delicious and your flowers are beautiful, but the only thing you’ll get to take away from your special day (other than your amazing marriage, of course!) are your wedding photos, videos, and some loving memories.
Wedding films add a beautiful and unique aspect to a wedding day! While professional photographers are experts at capturing memorable moments from your wedding, there are some things they can miss. Having a professional wedding videographer on the spot ensures you’ll get all the details from your dream day—wrapped up in one romantic and sweet video you can treasure for years to come.
Q&A with Lance Begnaud
Today, I would like to introduce you to Lance Begnaud, St. Louis-based professional wedding and event videographer. Let’s get to know Lance!
1. What common mistakes do you see couples making?
Every year, The Knot talks to brides who didn’t get video coverage on their wedding day. Every year, 95-98% of brides surveyed said that they wished they had hired a videographer and regretted not doing so. Don’t be one of the brides who has such heavy regrets after your big day.
2. What’s the best tip you have for a couple planning a wedding?
Hire a Coordinator! They can help you navigate all the decisions you’ll have to make, and they know all the best vendors!
3. What don’t couples know about your business that they need to know?
True Video lets couples customize their own wedding video package to match their style and meet their budget perfectly. We can also do high-quality live streams for your guests who can’t attend in person!
4. What questions should couples be asking that they don’t know to ask?
“Do I really want an outdoor wedding in August?”
5. What your best piece of advice for couples planning a wedding?
Outdoor weddings can look beautiful, but they’re often hellish for your guests and vendors. Extremely bright days are not good for photo & video, and there are so many variables that are outside your control. I strongly recommend considering an indoor space where things like severe heat, rain, and spotty electricity won’t be issues that you’ll need to contend with.
6. What’s the most unusual wedding you ever did?
The most unusual wedding I ever filmed was “Twilight”- themed. The bridesmaids were vampires (Team Edward) and the groomsmen were werewolves (Team Jacob.)
7. What was the most memorable wedding you ever worked, and why?
Recently, a couple flew me out to Mexico to film their gorgeous beachside wedding. It was my first destination wedding, and I need more!
Final Thoughts
Finding wedding vendors that will communicate well with each other is so important. There’s a lot to coordinate, and it’s really easy to step on each other’s toes if there’s no game plan in place and consistent communication throughout the whole process.
I have recently been working on an exciting task whereby I have been interviewing various local wedding vendors across the wedding industry. I have carefully selected the professionals I have chosen to interview, and it was really hard to choose just one supplier from each field of the industry, as over the years I have made such great friends with so many wonderful souls who I work alongside on weddings.
