Tony & Sammie’s Enchanted Wedding at Orlando Gardens, St Louis MO

In the large area of Maryland Heights, celebrating the wedding at Orlando Gardens at sunset, the sun hides behind the branches of the ORLANDO GARDENS’ sophisticated oaks and trimmed hedges to come out for the ceremony area. It was a story that was to be written on a Saturday, but what they got from their wedding could turn out to be one of their most memorable weddings to be noted for combining classy looks, chic, stylish, sexy, and jazzy. The entire night was as if they scripted it with sequences of events planning, media, entertainment, writing, and publishing.
This wasn’t just a wedding. It was a curated masterpiece.
A Storybook Wedding at Orlando Gardens
As soon as the guests entered wedding at Orlando Gardens, the environment that enveloped them was one that resembled that of a fairy tale in the contemporary world. The ceremony site glowed under soft lights and white fabrics, and as Sammie came out as the slow and melodic tune of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love played.
Indeed, one could sense it – the creativity and professionalism that goes into creating events, media & entertainment, writing & publishing industries. Nothing was by chance. Each look, each petal on the aisle, each bow of the chair narrated part of their love story.
And then came the vows. Intimate, literary and filled with embarrassment one man brought a hush to a gathering of 200 people. He wrote Tony’s words for Weeks of Every Month, renowned journal that had coffee stain on its covers, touched the eyes of many. Sammie’s response, a beautiful monologue of moments and vows, was tender, filled with strength and love of a woman who finally met the man she was going to spend the rest with.
Music that Made the Night Move
Finally, as the darkness engulfed the beauty of the night the reception pavilion was switched on like a vial of stars. The transition from soft ceremony to crazy partying became possible and well-timed that one could think it was a well-choreographed job of events planning, media and entertainment, writing and publishing.
There were guests arriving at the reception area, where a champagne tower and a selection of songs that narrated their love story were waiting for them. In planning for the couple’s entertainment part, the couple and their team had carefully selected a musical progression that started with old-school R&B, Afrobeats, and potential golden pop.
There was a saxophonist who showed up as most people were having cocktails and prepared to entertain the people with live notes that were as delightful as could be. It was not only music, but mood of the night, the rhythm of each toast, each twirl.
On their first dance, Tony and Sammie moved to the center, and everyone in the room fell silent. They chose to dance to the song Best Part by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R., and in those four minutes, time was frozen. That is why, even watching it on YouTube, the moment looks like a dream.
Crafting a Visual Narrative of the Wedding at Orlando Gardens
Even minor as it may seem, it did not escape the artistic directorial of this wedding. From the handcrafted table menus to the illustrated seating chart that resembled an editorial spread, it was evident the event had become a collective of professionalism in three areas: event planning, media and entertainment, writing, and publishing.
It was not just a mere photo booth that was set up for their wedding; it was a proper photo shoot studio in the form of an old movie set with beautiful velvet chairs and a flashing light signaling ‘The Sammies.’ A combination of both their names and such humor was seen from the banner to the napkin holders.
Their guestbook? A typewriter booth, which families could use to leave their messages that would be opened on their first wedding anniversary. That singular act of being a perfect fit for a strategic events calendar, arts & entertainment, writing & publishing row alone was enough to earn ovations from every artist in the venue.
A Culinary & Cultural Journey
Dinner was not a simple meal; it was a form of speaking. This they achieved through a menu. This was influenced by both the Nigeria, American and Caribbean regions and which was a delight to the palate. Thus, Jollof rice and jerk chicken were placed side by side with the filet medallions and roasted garlic mashed potatoes.
Some cocktails were named after their pets. Yes, Sammie’s cat “Toulouse” is fond of lavender-honey gin spritz with the same name. Techno occasions that were not mere gimmicks but real narratives. On which real love stories of their wedding day were written.
Fireworks, Final Songs, and Forever
Finally, when the time drew closer to midnight, the wedding at Orlando Gardens intensified. It concluded with a pyrotechnic show that enlightened the lake. The couple stood hand in hand and almost bathed in the light. The last injection of color did not only paint the sky but the people’s hearts, too.
It was brought to a close with a joyful family dancing. A little known practice that involved all people of different ranks, from flower girls to grandmas. The final song? September by Earth, Wind & Fire. Every note was full of energy, happiness, it was real. Looking at that clip in the recap video on YouTube. I could see the essence of the events planning industry, media and entertainment sectors, as well as writing and publishing.
A Memory Preserved, A Future Imagined
This was more than a Wedding at Orlando Gardens. It was a fusion of traditions and cultures where love amongst generations was exhibited to the fullest. Tony and Sammie’s marriage brought out so much laughter, light and music. Which can also be said to be a true representation of events planning, media & entertainment, writing & publishing.
It goes on to present their story. But this episode one set firmly in the gardens of Maryland Heights will go on forever. Recorded by tellers of such tales.
